 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."  [John 15:4]

Prayer is our first priority, to abide in the Lord Jesus!

Lets look at the promises He has given us from the passage above: When we abide in Him and He in us, we bear much fruit! He further qualified the conditions for bearing fruit a little later in the 15th Chapter of John's Gospel and gives clarification as to what it means for Him to abide in us.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." [John 15:7-8]

The IF conditions, for bearing much fruit, are:

  • Our abiding in Him        and
  • His Words abiding in us. Jesus can not abide in us, if His Word does not abide in us.

We aim to pray together as a team at the Leeds City Mission office in Armley every morning and the people manning the book shop also pray together.

We have four different kinds of prayer events throughout every month, that you are welcome to join us at:

  • We have a Day of Prayer and Fasting on the first Tuesday of every month at our Armley office from 10-3.
  • We have an evening prayer meeting at Bramley Christian Fellowship on the 4th Tuesday evening of the month at 7.30 pm.  See events notice on home page for directions.
  • We have an evening prayer meeting at Garforth Christian Fellowship on the 3rd Tuesday evening of the month at 7 pm. See events notice on home page for directions.
  • We co-ordinate an evening Prayer Walk in and around Leeds City Centre on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month starting at 5.30 pm.
  • We also join with churches in Co-ordinated prayer meetings as part of the Leeds City Prayer Collaboration. These prayer meetings take place in a range of venues around Leeds on the 2nd Friday evening of the Month. See events notice on home page for information.
